Who is reading this??

I'm delighted that someone is getting some use out of my blog despite the fact that I haven't posted anything new in forever!

  1. Hi Greg,

Well here goes....I'll respond to that challenge ;)

You should post more! I remember one entry you wrote about Brewsters....I'd never been there before. But then met with Edmonton Prime Timers ( a really nice group of older gay guys) at the Oliver Square location. Good food, great beer, and a very convivial atmosphere...I made several new friendships that day.

I still live in Lloydminster....but I am (somewhat slowly and painfully) making plans to move to Edmonton. They ARE gay people here...but the older ones are very deep in the closet and not really into much besides hookups. The younger ones I usually don't have a whole lot in common with. Perhaps I am being unfair :( Of course, being from a Mormon and before that, Catholic background, and coming from a married with kids situation doesn't make the transition any easier.

That said, I do have a few good friends here in Lloyd, but there is so much more to motivate me if I moved. I've met quite a number of people in the Edmonton LGBT community in a surprising number of social situations. It has really heartened me to see there are so many cool and interesting people with a lot of diversity in their interests and viewpoints. The bear bashes that Aaron organizes are once such. Plus I can't help it...I'm a city kinda guy, I think....especially the more I come out !

    Cheers,

    Brian
